In spite of their strong bond and mutual respect Nigerian singer Seyi Shay has been transparent about her relationship status and the reasons behind her decision to not wed her daughters father.

The award-winning artist emphasized that marriage was not currently in their plans and called her decision a personal and technical one in an open interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo. He is Nigerian presently residing in the UK and works in the corporate side of the music industry she revealed adding that they collaborate closely to raise their daughter.

In their co-parenting arrangement which she characterized as both supportive and fulfilling the singer emphasized that harmony and balance have been maintained primarily through mutual respect and understanding.

In her reflections on motherhood since the birth of her daughter in 2022 Seyi Shay stated that the experience has fundamentally changed the way she views relationships life and her work.

She disclosed that having a child has inspired her to prioritize love development and purpose over social pressures making her more deliberate about her priorities.
